Hi, I’m Dr. Wells.

Ngoc-quynh Wells is a mouthful, so just call me Dr. Wells.

Why I became a psychologist

I have always been fascinated with the mind since my first college psychology class, seeing mind-blowing (pun intended!) psychology experiments and seeing how much we can learn from observing behaviors! From there, I decided to go into clinical psychology as I wanted to make meaningful changes in the lives of children and their families.

My Approach

Building Trust with Families

As a psychologist, I understand the importance of building trust with children and their families. Here's a glimpse into my background and approach:

  • Experienced Psychologist: 10+ years of experience working with children of all ages, helping them understand their strengths and challenges.

  • Passionate Advocate: I'm passionate about helping families advocate for services and support for their child at home, school, and community

  • Collaborative Approach: I believe in working collaboratively with parents and caregivers to develop strategies and resources that benefit the entire family.

  • Lifelong Learner: I'm dedicated to staying current on best practices and evidence-based evaluations for autism and developmental disabilities

A little about me

I was born in Vietnam. Seeking a better future, my parents became refugees and we were able to come to the US when I was 4. I am fluent in both English and Vietnamese.

When I have some me-time, you might find me indulging in one of these activities:

  • Swimming: I was on the water polo and the swim team in high school, and I still enjoy swimming and lazing about in the pool.

  • Catching the latest movies: I love watching romance, comedy, action, anime, and even international ones like Chinese and Korean dramas.

  • Reading and Podcasts/Audiobooks: Since the days of reading Nancy Drew and Sweet Valley twins, I've continued to nurture my love of reading. When on the road, I like to listen to Podcasts or a good audiobook!
